We hope that this finds you, your family, friends, colleagues, and students well during these challenging times. At Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, we are continuing to tackle both social and health issues head-on. Our students continue to hone their skills, so you can expect to see their best, both on and off stage, as we prepare for our stages to open again. Our students and faculty are preparing to share with you their talents through our Senior Showcase 2020.
Each year, seniors at Booker T. apply to and are accepted at some of the most prestigious colleges, universities and conservatories in the United States.
We have over 60 seniors who will be showcasing in Acting, Set Design, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Stage Management, Musical Theatre, Playwriting, Set Construction, Costume Construction, Props, and Make-up. Our students are attending colleges all over the country and are always looking for exciting and dynamic programs. Every year at the start of our Showcase, we have college representatives hold workshops with our junior and senior students in every area of the Theatre. Let me know if you are interested in presenting one.
We are preparing to introduce our seniors to you via a virtual showcase this year. To those college representatives that register, we will send a link to our Online Showcase Platform via SlideRoom. You will select the Theatre Conservatory tab to see the headshots of all our Theatre Seniors. By clicking on their pictures, you can see their work, including video auditions, interviews and links to student websites and work in all tech areas, Playwriting and Film. You will be able to respond and/or request callbacks with any of our theatre students, all of whom will be available to Zoom with you from school on Showcase Day, November 21st.
